You Can Make A Difference

Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering with Lost Cove Animal Sanctuary. We are very grateful for your support. There are few things as rewarding as helping a homeless animal find a new home. When you volunteer at LCAS, you make a difference for homeless animals AND the people choosing to adopt them.

How You Can Help

As a volunteer-powered non-profit organization, Lost Cove would not exist without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. The number of dogs we can save depends on the number of people we have helping us. We are always looking for new volunteers!

Volunteering can take a variety of forms. From serving as an ambassador spreading awareness in the community, to providing enrichment and socialization for an animal, to transporting animals to support our mission, volunteer team members give their time and talent to change the lives of thousands of pets each year. We could not do what we do without you, and we have unmet needs waiting for talented volunteers to help us fulfill our mission!

Animal Transport

Often our ability in obtaining a rescue dog, or moving one of our dogs to a foster home totally depends on volunteers such as you to help in their transportation.

Please know that you are under NO OBLIGATION at any time to say yes in helping with transport. We fully understand that our volunteers may have other obligations at that time.

Don’t worry if it’s your first time. We will walk you through the entire process and provide you with the necessary items for proper transport.

We work closely with our transport volunteers on exact meeting places for your “leg,” or segment, of the transport and you will be fully informed by email and/or telephone prior to your leg of a transport. Of course, you will be fully involved in decisions regarding handoff dates, times, and locations for both ends of any leg in which you are involved.

Other Opportunities

Want to help but can’t transport or foster? We have plenty of behind the scenes needs from writing thank you notes, graphic design, photography, bathing dogs, home visits, socializing and exercising dogs, social media , and more, in both our North Carolina & Illinois locations. Share the skills you have to offer and we will find a place for you to have an impact.
